Out to Lunch On A Gloomy Day OOTD

OOTD

Hi Guys! Last week my friend Erica and I decided to go out to lunch and I thought, "Why not do an OOTD blog post?" I mean, like who doesn't just want to start taking pictures of their outfit in the middle of a restaurant. HA!

Well anyways, it turned out to be a really gloomy and drizzly day out that day. Erica and I went to this cozy little "bistro" LOL, it was really cute and yummy!

Fall Target Haul 2013

Okay. So, please tell me that we all have those days when we go into Target, see tons of cute new things and engage in one of our most random unnecessary shopping sprees? I need to be reassured. Now, in my own defense, I do put a lot of thought behind all of my purchases and try my best not to buy anything that I absolutely don't  need or already have too much of. In addition to that little disclaimer, this is a cumulative haul and these are my purchases from multiple trips to Target, not all at once. Okay..maybe just two trips. LOL, with that being said, let's jump right into the haul!

First up! These Sonia Kashuk fragrance items were being displayed by the beauty isles. I must admit that the packaging of these products really drew me in. There were several other scents besides this purple one. There were ones with yellow flowers, pink ones and red ones. I gotta say...they all smelled really nice put something about this purple flowery scent that drew me in. Alright, buying all of these may seem a little impulsive and maybe it was, but I have been in need of a new  fragrance and from experience I know that layering fragrances is the best way to get the most longevity out of it. It is the easiest way to ensure that the fragrance will last and you will smell pretty all day!

From left to right: Body LotionPerfume (Eau de Toilette)Body OilHand Creme

At first I had purchased the lotion and the body oil, thinking that the body oil was actually a body mist. When I got home I loved the scent so much when I put it on. I tend to think that most fragrances smell the same and am usually unimpressed but something about this scent is so different. It is flowery and fresh and although this may sound unappealing, this fragrance has an undertone that reminds me of Vicks Vapor Rub. LOL, but in a good way. It is intense and awakening. So I went back and picked up the perfume and the hand creme to throw in my purse. I know that this  fragrance collection by Sonia Kashuk is still available at target.
I've gotten so many complements on it already!

PURSE GOODIES! Had to pick up some little essentials for my purse:)
1. I love having these little bottles of Advil for on the go!
2. This Ice Cubes gum is one of my faves. I prefer the packaging because there's no chance of the gum getting squished and making a mess in my purse.
3. What girl isn't in need of more hair ties pretty much all the time?
4. My hands get so dry with the change of season. I love these little Nivea Creams to go. Nivea is a great product, these little pans last a long time and they're only .99 cents!
4. I picked up this cute 2014 planner from the dollar section.

I loves these makeup removing wipes. They are so gentle and are great for sensitive skin. They are oil-free and you don't need a separate product to remove eye makeup because these remove it all.

Now I know that I'm not the only one that gets really excited about seeing these little red stickers at Target. Let's face it, Target is not cheap. But when they break out these little clearance stickers, the deals are usually good.
I love spicing up a simple outfit with a top knot and a cute pair of studs! I love the two pairs of rose gold studs because they remind me of some more expensive earrings that I have seen by Kate Spade and several other designers. And of course, the crosses are just too cute!

Sometimes a cute scarf is all you need to look put together on a cozy fall day. I don't think that a girl can have a large enough variety of scarves! I am not one to gravitate towards a ton of animal print, but I think that adding a leopard scarf to an all black outfit is so feminine and classic.

Hope you guys enjoyed, thanks for reading and stay tuned for some fun holiday posts!

A Brighter Ombre Lip for Fall

Hello hello! Ombre lips have been a hot topic for quite a while now. You have, of course, the traditional dark red fading to bright red ombre lips and your crazy, bold navy blue to light blue ombre lips! A deep, dark red combo is often stunningly worn during the fall season.

As all of us beauty fanatics probably know, brighter, more cool lip tones tend to be a lot more popular in the spring and summer months. I decided that I wanted to create a bit of a brighter ombre lip, while still being appropriate for the fall.
I think that this combo is a gorgeous berry colored ombre lip, suitable for fall!

I started by lining my entire lips with Magenta lip liner by MAC. Using the Magenta lip liner will brighten this look a little bit more and bring out the pinker tones. This look would also work with Vino or Current lip liner by Mac, these would bring out
more of the look's berry tones.

I filled in the outer parts of my lips with the ever so beautiful Rebel lipstick by MAC. This is one of my most favorite fall lip colors. It can be deepened or brightened up, depending on what lip liners you pair it with. This look is definitely a brighter take on  Rebel.

Next, I filled in the center of my lips with Snob by MAC. Any nice bright pink shade would work. St. Jermaine by MAC is another good choice.

Lastly, I blended Rebel and Snob together where they met for that ombre effect!

As for eyes, I kept them subtle. I primed with MAC's paint pot in Painterly and then put Urban Decay's Naked Illuminating Powder all over my lid. I love using this as an eye shadow because it has such fine shimmer which really makes your eyes twinkle! You can also just use a shimmery nude eye shadow, or a matte one if you prefer. I quickly blended MAC's saddle in the crease (or any warm brown color for definition), added a small wing and BOOM your look is complete!

A perfectly pretty look to brighten up any gloomy fall days!

Traveling!

Hello all!
This past weekend I took a trip to Florida and I figured I would share with you guys some of the things that I feel are essential when going on the plane ride! Enjoy!

First off, I like to travel light! Suprisingly...considering the amount of makeup, face products and brushes that I bring with me! I try to decide EXACTLY what I'm going to wear each day, that way I don't have to bring "options". And then I cram the rest of my bag with makeup! I also use a lot of the space in my big purse to fit makeup, jewelry and anything else I may need room for. I hate checking bags! Besides, who wants to pay for that!

My gold sparkly bag is from Viictoria's Secret. It's sooo beautiful and sparkly! Oooooo ahhhhh. It's from a promotion that they have going on right now so run and get it! If you spend $75, you get the bag for free. It is very roomy. I am always pleasantly suprised with the quality of their "free" bags. The only downfall to this bag is the glitter fall out!! I'm hoping that it will go away but, hey! The bag's cute!

My black leather, spiky purse is from Nordstrom. The brand is called De Leux. I am in love with this bag. I've had it for a couple months now and I have a feeling that it will be in my life for a WHILE. The quality is amazing. It is so roomy which is what I look for in a bag and the spikes are so in! This bag definitely adds a stylish twist to any outfit!

Attire! How cute is this leopard shirt from VS Pink?! It's just a nice, comfy tee but I think it's so cute! The leggings I was wearing were also from Pink and they have leopard accents on the waist band! I got these last week at VS and they were running low on the leopard gear so I would hurry if you want some! BTW, I'm not tooooo much of a leopard kinda gal but these peices were not too much and just enough!

Fun stuff! When you are going on a trip, whether it's business or pleasure, it's always nice to treat yourself to a little something. In this case, a little sweetness and a little entertainment!

I ordered an iced caramel macchiato. YUM! I also picked up this Cosmo mag with a stunning Miley Cyrus on the cover! Anyways, this occupied me for a while before falling asleep!

And here are some of my plane ride essentials! Comfy shoes are also a must! Thanks for reading!

First Day of Work OOTD & MOTD - ULTA

MOTD:

Eyes: Victoria's Secret Beauty - Deluxe Eye Palette in Screen Siren (pink, white, nude, mauve & black) I am normally not a fan of Victoria's Secret Beauty....BUT this palette is gorgeous and to die for. I am in love with a smokey eye that has a pop of pink or mauve. This palette is perfect for that and the shadows are very nice quality.

Lashes: Big, bold lashes WOO! These are Ardell's 105 lashes. They come in a twin pack at my local CVS. Love 'emmmm.

Lips: Mac's Snob mixed with a little bit of Myth in order to tone done the bright pink shade.

Blush: Mac's Warm Sol

Brows: Mac's fluid line in Dip Down

Face: As for my face, I used my Stila Stay all day foundation which I have been loving lately. I am a FULLL coverage kinda girl so with any foundation that I fall in love with is always full coverage. This Stila foundation is extremely thick which may not be for everyone, but it really works for me. I set this with my Mac Prep & Prime Loose Powder, as per usual! Of course I did my usual highlight and contour routine. I will make a detailed post on this shortly!:)

OOTD:

At ULTA we are required to wear black & white but during certain seasons they allow you to add in other specific colors. This month we are allowed to throw some pink into our attire, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.

What am I wearing?

My shirt is from Windsor. It is a cute, long v-neck T-shirt. I love this blush shade of pink and what I love most about this is the "leather" pocket and sleeves (not pictured). I wore a simple,  long black sweater from Target over top.

My necklace is actually from Dress Barn, LOL. I had some coupons and I thought that this was adorable. It is such a staple accessory for me and I find myself wanting to pear it with everything! Chunky gold chains are everything right now.

My boots are my black leather boots that I got last year from Just Fab! I really want to invest in some flat, knee-high boots this fall!

My leggings are also from Windsor! They are leather-esque and compliment the leather accents in my shirt!! These are so comfy, I had expected them to turn weird after washing them for some reason but they have actually turned out to be nice quality!

My first day went great by the way;) thanks for reading!

ULTA INTERVIEW! :)

WELL HELLO!

My first blog post and I have something VERY EXCITING to share! Where should I start? Let's seeeee.....well it all started one day....LOL!

A couple weeks back I applied online for a job at ULTA Beauty. I mean, what girl wouldn't want a job where they are surrounded by all the latest and greatest beauty products?! Ummmm I WOULD! HAHA! Not to mention, I would love to utilize my skills and apply makeup on others every single day and make them feel happy and beautimous!!!! FOR REAL!

But on a serious note! I would accept any position at this store in hopes to work my way up to being a beauty consultant!

Okay, so back to the point! If you want to apply to ULTA, go online, select careers and fill out their online application! Simple right?! They ask you lotsa questions so make sure you have some free time alotted when doing this. Anywho, I completed the online application..a week went by.....and another.....and ANOTHER! So, I was a little discouraged and hadn't really thought about the job in a while.

After about a month I get a call from one of the general managers in the location I applied at, she asked me if I was still interested and if I could come in TOMORROW and of course I said...YESSSS ID BE HAPPY TO! Oh, and I wasssss happy!

I had done lots of online research about interviewing at ULTA in order to prepare myself. I would say that 95% of what I read said that ULTA does group interviews, even if they don't mention that to you on the phone. Soo...that is pretty much what I expected.

I would suggest having some background knowledge about the company, ULTA. Maybe when it was founded, their reward system for customers, etc. and if you can throw that info in during your interview somehow...bonus points!! LOL. Most importantly, know about the brands that ULTA sells. That way when you are asked questions you can incorporate ULTA's brands into your answers and you can make sure you don't mention the brands they DONT sell!

The next morning I did my makeup up, of course! Come on...wearing makeup to an interview like this is a given!!! Not over the top, neat and clean looking...but definetly something that shows off that you know how to do more than put on mascara!! I read that a lot of people suggest wearing black and white to the interview since that is what the ULTA employees are required to wear. I think that that is a good idea but I went with a pretty and professional maroon top...incase it was a group interview I didn't want to blend too much!! Neat black pants, black boots and simple accessories! Basically any neat and polished interview attire but I would still suggest showing some sort of your own style because...ULTA is a beauty store and...beauty is about expressing yourself, of course!

Okay, moving on! I get there and it was a one on one interview with the general manager! So, if you do go to this interview, I'm not sure if it would be group or one on one :/

The interviewer asked lots of standard interview questions about how I would deal with certain customers, etc. REMEMBER! Customer service is the biggest thing!

She asked me what are my favorite color and skin care brands, two of each and I made sure that my answers were the brands that ULTA sells. I don't think it would be a very good idea to say...MAC is my fave! LOL

The interviewer also asked me what has been the most difficult thing I've experienced when applying makeup on a client and how I've dealt with it.

Overall, I think that the interview went very well but there definitely were some challenging questions. It is VERY important to prepare!

OKAY. So now for the big news!!

I expected the interviewer to tell me that she would call me...but instead...she offered me a job...right then and there!!! AND she offered me the position of the "Prestige Beauty Consultant"! *DUN DA DA DUNNN!* Meaning that I will be helping people in the high end beauty department of the store...helping them match color, doing trials, etc. AHHHH. Yay I get to do what I love to do!

I start this Monday for my training and I will def keep you all posted!

If you want to work at ULTA or a beauty store I would say to follow some of these tips and GO FOR IT! The interview experience was a good one for me and I can't wait to share with you all what the job brings!

Thank you for reading this long post!

Stay Flawless!
